By a Bosch hub motor
A hub motor means that the power is delivered directly to the rear wheel. No chain, no belt, nothing between the power and the wheel. This provides great torque and immediate power delivery, but also massively simplifies servicing.
Temperature, incline and the weight of the rider all factor into the range that the bike delivers. Adding a second battery doubles your range.
The principle factor affecting the speed of the bike is the ride mode which you select. For example, ‘Speed’ mode will take you all the way up to 45mph, at the expense of range, but ‘Range’ mode limits top speed to 20mph to get you further.

There are two reasons why customers may wish to order a restricted power version. The first is in the case that the customer is aged 16. 16 year old customers may ride a Restricted Power version of a Maeving RM1 if they have passed a CBT. The other key reason is if you a) passed your test before 1st February 2001 AND b) do not wish to do a CBT.
Yes, but you will need to return the bike to us so we can make the necessary changes. We need to update three separate pieces of software and then re-register the bike for you under its new power class. Please contact email@example.com if you would like us to quote you for this service.
Just slot it in. Unlike other manufacturers, we’ve designed the Maeving RM1’s battery to be extremely simple to use – you don’t need to connect a cable once the battery is inserted, you just need to drop it in and the battery will automatically connect.
There are two ways to charge – with the dock, or without. If you’d like to use the dock, you can clip the charging terminal into the dock, drop the battery in, and wait for charging to complete. If you want to use the charger without the dock, you simply attach the charging terminal to the battery. The terminal is angled so that you can store the battery upright and drop the battery ‘on’ to the charging terminal, even without a dock fitted.
Try and keep your battery as full as possible. Deep-cycling (frequently and consistently taking the battery from 100% to 0%) affects the life of the battery – better to top it up when you can. If you’re not going to be using your battery for a while, store it indoors.
In normal conditions, the Maeving RM1 Battery charges from 0-100% in under 4 hours. To go from 50-100% is 2 hours, and 20-80% is just over 2 hours.

Yes, you need a CBT License.
CBT or Compulsory Basic Training is a one-day course designed for new motorbike riders to learn how to drive a scooter or motorcycle. Once you have completed the course you will receive a license to drive a scooter or motorcycle up to 125cc or 11kw in power (i.e. a Maeving). The license will be valid for two years, at which point you can renew it for another two years or upgrade to a full license.

At 16 you are restricted to riding a 50 cc scooter or motorcycle with a speed restriction of 28 mph

Technically you cannot fail a CBT but you can be asked to re-book and come back for further training. This is very rare as the session is meant to be a training day and not a test.
Not yet, however, we will arrange for your Maeving to be ready for you to drive home once you’ve completed your test, if you’re doing a CBT with us.

Yes, you need to insure your Maeving RM1 to a minimum cover of 'Third Party' before you can ride it legally on the road.
Yes, you need to service your Maeving after three months or 600 miles, whichever comes first and then every 12 months or 3000 miles, whichever comes first.
We recommend you buy a Maeving service plan when you purchase your bike. If you choose not to do this, you can either book a service with the Maeving workshop or with one of our Maeving-approved service partners.

The Maeving workshop is your first stop for both in-warranty and out-of-warranty repairs. We also have Maeving-approved service partners who are able to repair your bike under warranty. Generally, we aim to get your bike to you within three weeks depending on your delivery area. If we have a very high volume of orders, it may be up to six weeks. Yes, we can deliver to your home or office. Ideally there would be space for our van to park/stop and for the driver to handover your bike.
On the day of delivery, you’ll receive a time window and tracking link via text, along with a contact number for the Delivery Team, so you can check up on your delivery at any time.
On arrival, our delivery driver will hand over your bike, keys, owner’s manual, registration plates, and relevant paperwork. They will also give you a run-down of how to use your bike and answer any questions you may have.
Yes, if you live in a particularly difficult to reach location or our delivery volumes are particularly high, it may be one of our dedicated motorcycle transporter partners that delivers your bike. If this is the case with yours, they may contact you directly to arrange the date and time.
We schedule our deliveries in advance and deliver to specific regions on specific days. If the initial time sent to you via email does not work or you’d like to change the delivery address, you can contact us via email@example.com or on +44 24 7718 0149. Please note, changes to your delivery date may delay your delivery.
Monday to Friday between 08h00 and 19h00 (with deliveries taking place over weekends when necessary).
If you place a separate order for a spare battery we'll put it in our vans for delivery on their routes.
If you've selected any additional accessories including batteries, chain locks, covers etc as part of your bike purchase, you'll receive these with your bike delivery.
If you’re not satisfied with your purchase upon delivery, you have the option to send it back within 14-days and receive a full refund. The following rules for return apply:
