HOW OUR OFFER WORKS

- Book your CBT course via one of
the many training centres throughout the UK (a quick Google Search will deliver lots of results) and complete your training. - Order a Maeving for £500 (this is
a fully refundable and non-binding deposit) and submit proof of your
certificate, the VAT receipt of your CBT via this form. - Before completing your final payment for your Maeving, a member of our sales team will apply the New Rider discount to your final order payment.
- Complete the final payment and get ready to receive your new motorcycle.

CBT COURSES EXPLAINED
A CBT is a one-day course that equips you with all you need to safely ride a motorcycle or moped. There are hundreds of training centres throughout the UK, and we recommend conducting a search online to find your nearest centre.
Be sure to ask to ride on an automatic bike, as this will closely resemble the riding experience of a Maeving. Please note that Maeving does not offer CBT courses.
WHAT TO EXPECT ON THE DAY?
There are five simple stages to completing a CBT course. These are:
- Introduction: overview of the course and a basic eyesight test (don't forget your glasses if you need them!).
- Motorcycle theory: learn the basic controls and maintenance of motorcycling.
- On-site riding: get a feel for starting, stopping, steering, and balancing in a controlled space.
- Road theory: learn the rules of the road and how to ride safely with other road users.
- Riding on the road: at least two hours of riding on the roads. That's it. You're now ready to confidently hit the road.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO PREPARE?
To put your mind at ease, read the following reminders to ensure you're ready for the course.
- Bring a UK provisional or full driver's licence. EU license holders must bring a completed D9 form and EU license photocard, obtained in advance.
- Wear abrasion-resistant clothing, such as a leather jacket and reinforced denim jeans, as well as good quality boots. Most CBT centres will have helmets and gloves.
- Revise the Highway Code, learn about the basic functions of motorcycling in advance, and watch CBT training videos on YouTube to feel prepared.
- Arrive on time. If you are late, you will not be allowed to take the course. Plan your journey, double check timings, and aim to get there early.

No, you can't fail your CBT as it is training rather than a test. However, if the instructor feels you need more time, you may be asked to return the following day.

Your CBT certificate doesn't require renewal. However, after two years, you must either retake the CBT course or obtain a full motorcycle license to continue riding legally.

No, you can't ride on motorways with a CBT. It's for riding on public roads, such as city streets and rural A-roads.
